“This will probably be my last year at Celtic”- Young Hoops star admits career is over

With Celtic looking to youth to make their mark under Ange Postecoglou, this would be the perfect time for any youngster to look positively at their future at Paradise.

Adam Montgomery, Tony Ralston and Stephen Welsh have all been given a chance, and shone, under the new gaffer and hopefully more will follow.

But one young Celtic star that is certain his career is over at Parkhead is on loan Kerr McInroy.

McInroy is currently on loan at Airdrie and loving life at the Diamonds but admits that although he has the option of another year on his contract at Celtic, lack of game time is forcing his hand and making him look elsewhere.

Speaking to The Daily Record, McInroy said, “It’s a difficult one for myself

“I want to play as many games as I can and show people what I can do. I want to grab a few goals.

“It’s a confusing situation for me. My head has been all over the place trying to work things out. So for now, it’s just a case of getting games.

“I have an option of another year at Celtic but this will probably be my last year at Celtic. So I need to get as many games as I can, wherever that may be.

McInroy has failed to make a single first team appearance at Celtic and has been at the Parkhead club’s academy since the age of 12.

A torn anterior crucial ligament suffered in May 2019 hampered the young hoop stars career.

He has made 25 appearances for Scotland’s u17/19 and 21’s combined.
