“That is an incredible achievement”- Former Rangers boss incredible Celtic player praise

With the team now picking up some much needed three points at Pittodrie today in the 2-1 win against Aberdeen, hopefully now this will be a sign that the club can now start to move forward and up the table.

One player that will be crucial this season and for seasons to come is Celtic captain Callum McGregor.

He is the heartbeat of the side and it is clear that when he is out the team, we are a poorer side and struggle badly.

After signing a five year contract at the club, McGregor looks set to end his career at Paradise and former Rangers manager, Alex McLeish hailed the Hoops captain tenure at Parkhead as an ‘incredible achievement’.

Speaking to Football Insider, McLeish said, “It looks like he’s going to end up a Celtic player his whole career.

“That is an incredible achievement. The speculation that possibly an English club would come in and nick him has proven unfounded.

“He loves the club. If he can get Celtic back into a winning groove, the fans will appreciate him even greater.”

With the Hoops now looking to kick on make their mark on the league table, the Celtic fans will be crossing their fingers and toes that the Celtic captain returns from international duty unscathed.

Celtic’s next two domestic fixtures are Motherwell and Hibs away, and McGregor will be vital to the teams cause of picking up maximum points.
