“I hope he goes” – Frank McAvennie’s bizarre Kyogo rant

Frank McAvennie has taken an astonishing swipe at Celtic striker Kyogo Furuhashi.

With the confusion over whether or not the Japanese front man has been called up to the national squad, Kyogo made a surprising appearance for the Hoops in last nights 4-0 defeat at the hands of Bayer Leverkusen, McAvennie made an incredible “get your head straight” comment in his most recent interview.

Speaking to Football Insider, McAvennie said, “I hope he goes.

“It will do him the world of good to get over there. Go and see your pals, get your head straight.

“The travel won’t be an issue. They all travel first class, it’s not like how I used to travel back in the day, let me tell you.

“I have no problem with him going away to be honest with you. If he does play then it means he’s getting fit with Japan.

“So when he comes back to Celtic he could be fully fit. That would be ideal.

“The only strange thing is the mixed messages, that’s bizarre. I’m really not sure what’s happened there.”

I think McAvennie’s sentiment will NOT be shared by most Celtic fans.

As Kyogo is still recovering from an injury sustained on international duty, most Hoops fans would be keen to see their talisman stay in Scotland and sit out the next two World Cup qualifiers to recover and train at Lennoxtown.
