John Hartson Tips League Title Chance Because Of ‘Menace’

As Celtic draw a line under phase one of the rebuild, we look back at the transfer window with a sense of satisfaction.

Already we have seen that Ange Postecoglou has an eye for a quality player with his captures of Kyogo Furuhashi and Liel Abada two of the most obvious and exciting talents to don the hoops so far this season.

But John Hartson has singled out THE one player that he reckons give the Hoops a real chance of winning the title this season and it is no surprise to read that Kyogo Furuhashi is that man.

The Japanese striker has been in amazing form since joining the Hoops. With seven goals in nine appearances, Furuhashi has already repaid a large slice of his transfer fee to the club as he helped secure Europa League group stage football.

Hartson was writing in his column in The Sunday Post as he praised the impact the 26 year old has made already, “There is no doubt Celtic have landed someone quite special in Kyogo. His movement is outstanding.

“It was a pity he couldn’t get more involved against Rangers, but when he moved into the central role, he was an absolute menace to their defence.

“Having him gives Celtic a real chance of winning the league this season.”

With Celtic adding Giorgos Giakoumakis to the ranks, it certainly seems the Hoops have the firepower up front to make a full assault on the league title, the only real questions will be at the heart of defence and if Celtic can keep that back door closed.
