Young Hoops Star Impresses On Loan Debut And Cites Celtic ‘Upbringing’

Celtic starlet, Scott Robertson, made his loan debut for Crewe Alexandra in last nights 1-0 win over Shrewsbury Town in the EFL Trophy and impressed new boss David Artell.

Speaking after the game, young Robertson spoke glowingly of his Celtic roots and credited that to his performance on his loan debut, “It’s been great, a great upbringing (at Celtic). Somewhere you need to win.

“It was good to get on the pitch tonight and show the winning mentality that’s been built into me from a young age.”

Crewe boss Artell was glowing in his praise for young Robertson and said they are aiming for the young midfielder to add goals to his game to aid in his development and the progress of the team, “Scott is a good manipulator of the ball, he ticks things over and he passes forward. Are there areas for improvement for him? Yes. Firstly, I think he can score more goals.

“We will encourage him to get forward and we will ask him to get in and around the opposition box.

“For his debut he was very competent and I thought he did ever so well.”

Robertson has a bright future at Celtic as he completes his third loan spell. The classy young midfielder spent time at Gillingham and Doncaster Rovers and made fifteen appearances for both clubs.

A product of the Celtic youth system, Robertson made his debut for Celtic at 18 years old against CR Cluj in a Europa League group fixture which Celtic lost 2-0.

The Hoops have high hopes for their young midfielder and see his loan spells as the perfect opportunity to gain first team experience as Ange Postecoglou rebuilds his first team squad.
