“It’s A Little Bit Fishy” – Prominent Fan Podcaster Issues Caution Over Celtic Transfer Deal

Celtic’s transfer business was always going to be the subject of much scrutiny this summer. With the size of the rebuild required at Parkhead, many fans were thinking that winning any kind of silverware this season was going to be a bonus.

What the supporters didn’t take into account was the incredible transformation in playing style that the team were about to undertake as Ange Postecoglou made good on his promise that he will bring football to get bums off seats. And so far he has delivered.

And this is what made this transfer even MORE interesting. Now Celtic fans are thinking what could the team do with players that Ange wants in?

This set the spotlight firmly on the incomings and whilst the guys at 20min Tims have been fairly happy with the business conducted so far, they have issued a note of caution on one of Celtic’s top purchases, Giorgos Giakoumakis.

The Greek striker has come to Scotland with a big reputation after his goal scoring exploits last season for VVV-Venlo, but the team at 20min Tims are very wary of the signing and it seems they think he may flatter to deceive, “If someone had said that at the start of the transfer window that we’re gonna get the top goal scorer in Holland in the door as well for very, very little money.

One or two alarm bells about that transfer I have to say. It’s a little bit fishy I reckon.

I look at his career, and you don’t score 26 or 28 goals or whatever was in the Eredivisie by accident. Let me clear about that.

Just like Leigh Griffiths career hasn’t to been written off because of what’s happened since. You don’t score that number of goals by accident.

But I look at his age, and his career to date, and it really as a load of nothing, and then one season of 26 or whatever it is.

I can’t remember the exact amount of goals, and it just happens to be last season.

So I don’t know whether he’s just been held back through injury. I’m not for a single second writing this guy off at all, it just raised an eyebrow or two over this way.
