“The Books Do Not Make Any Sense” – Davie Provan Tears Into Rangers Finances As The Cost Of Stopping The Ten Rams Home

Since last December, Rangers have warned that they will have to sell at least one player to help balance the books. The Govan club threw everything they had and then some in their relentless bid to stop Celtic winning that coveted ten in a row.

And to be fair to them, they have achieved it. One trophy in Steven Gerrard’s three years at *Rangers with over £40m spent trying to achieve it.

*Rangers fans would argue that it was the most important trophy TO win but the at what cost?

Davie Provan was speaking about Rangers on Go Radio and their bid to get decent money for Alfredo Morelos when he tore into the club and their expectations of being able to demand exorbitant amounts of money for the Colombian striker, “I don’t think Rangers will get top dollar for Morelos now and buying clubs are not stupid.

They do their homework on the clubs that they are going to approach. And they will know how Rangers work. Rangers directors have throwing money at this.

The books do not make any sense. at Ibrox at the moment. Rangers are a club that need to get some money in now. Anyone who’s interested in Alfredo Morelos will know this.

So they’re going to lowball Rangers. I don’t see Rangers getting anywhere £20m for Morelos even with two years left on his contract.”

It certainly doesn’t look good for the Ibrox club moving forward and it may mean they have to sell more players than they thought to balance the books.
