“He’s going nowhere” – Wayne Rooney Fires Warning To Postecoglou

Celtic’s search for a suitable right back has taken a massive blow as Derby County boss, Wayne Rooney, fired a warning that none of his players will be leaving the club, including Celtic target, Nathan Byrne.

Byrne has been on the Hoops radar as they seek to strengthen the right full back position as Anthony Ralston still remains the only recognised right sided defender at the club.

With all the best will in the world, Ralston clearly isn’t strong enough to reach the demands that Ange Postecoglou requires for his style of play and Ange has earmarked Byrne as the perfect man to slot into that area.

With the Championship club currently unable to bring players in due to a transfer embargo, a report says Rooney has fired a warning that his players will remain at the club until he gets the opportunity to bring in reinforcements, “None of my players are going anywhere.

“Obviously, we haven’t got enough players as it is.

“The way we are trying to play, they (Byrne and team-mate Lee Buchanan) are the two most important players on the pitch, so none of my players will be leaving the club this transfer window unless it is to benefit them, whether it is a loan, but that can only happen if we are allowed to bring players in.”

With less than a week to go until the new season kicks off, it looks increasingly likely that Celtic will kick off their first match with Ralston as the right back, but the Hoops fans will be hoping that the club will be working hard behind the scenes to get new players in, and quick.
