“One Day I Will Play For A World Famous Club” – Hoops Targets Massive Hint To Celtic Transfer

Celtic have been making major moves in the transfer window this summer. The last two weeks have seen three players in Osaze Urhoghide, Kyogo Furuhashi and Carl Starfelt joining the ranks and with the Parkhead club being linked to several players this summer, one reported target has dropped a massive at where he believes his future lies.

Japanese international Ko Itakura has spoken about his desire to make himself a star in the game and how he aims to play for a world famous club, and there are none more famous than the green and white hoops.

Speaking to the press, Itakura said, “Groningen is the place where I was able to put myself on the map, where I learned to communicate in a foreign language.

“Everything here I did for the first time, and at the next club it will no longer be the first time. I have grown as a person and as a footballer.

“My dream is that one day I will play for a world famous club so that everyone knows who Ko Itakura is.

“But I think that after my career I will always want to come back to FC Groningen. That says it all.”

There is no doubt that Celtic gaffer Ange Postecoglou will know Itakura well with his contacts and time spent in Japan, and it may well be that be that with the Hoops backline requiring serious strengthening this summer, Itakura may be the man the Ange identifies as the man to bolster his defence.
