International Defender “Looking To Get Something Sorted” – Hoops Target Keen On Move

As Celtic look to bolster their back line in this transfer window, a report has emerged that seems to suggest that former Tottenham and US International Cameron Carter-Vickers is keen to sort out his future amid the start of the new season.

The Daily Record has reported “sources” close to the player admitting that Celtic are one of two clubs with firm interest in the defender and he is looking to get his future sorted out sooner rather than later,  “Cameron is looking for a new challenge and a few clubs are interested.

Celtic and Bournemouth are the most serious right now. He’s looking to get something sorted as soon as he can with the season just around the corner.”

At just 23 years old, Carter-Vickers has eight international caps to his name and would not only appeal to the Celtic signing model of buying young to sell on for a profit, but also to the fans.

The Hoops fans are looking for first team ready players and with his, albeit limited, international experience, Carter-Vickers does seem to fit in with that expectation of the supporters.

Interestingly, the young American has never made a single appearance for Spurs first team but does have plenty of experience through various loan moves that has seen him play for teams like Sheffield United, Ipswich Town and Stoke City.

Celtic fans are desperate to see new faces come into the squad to help the rebuild for next season but are left increasingly frustrated at the apparent lack of effort to get deals over the line.

At £5m, it would seem that the capture of Carter-Vickers would be expensive, but Celtic will need to move and move quickly before another club decides to take the chance on him.

  1. I thought he had a year left on his contract, and Spurs wanted c£5m for him.
