“I think It’s Inevitable” – Ex Celtic Legend on Potential Parkhead Exit

We all know there will be outgoings at Celtic Park. It’s a foregone conclusion that there are certain players will be gone before the transfer window closes.

But there is one player that Celtic fans may have thought there could be a glimmer of hope of keeping hold of.

Odsonne Edouard has been the subject of unending speculation about his future this summer and with his proposed move to Leicester City falling through, coupled with no other firm bids for the striker, the Celtic fans may have been hopeful of the French star staying on and possibly even extending his contract.

Not so says former Celtic hero, Davie Provan. Speaking on The Go Radio Football Show, Provan is certain the classy forward will move on in this window, “Yeah, I think it is inevitable. I mean for Celtic to bring players in and they are going to have to bring in somewhere I think between half a dozen and a dozen.

“That money has to come from somewhere and that will come from player sales. I think if you look back to the beginning of last season Edouard and and N’tcham clearly wanted out.

“It was a huge mistake to keep them. And from what I can gather, or my first impressions of Postecoglou is that if you don’t want to be there, he doesn’t want you there, and I think Celtic have got to get rid of the boys.

“That seems like a harsh expression, but if the boys aren’t fully committed, they have to go, and they have to get players in who will go the full shift.”

And yet with no other bids in for Edouard, it doesn’t seem as though that move will be coming anytime soon. Is it time for Postecoglou to work his charm and try to persuade Eddy to sign an extension?
