“McKay Is Speaking To Targets” – Former Celtic Striker Drops Massive Transfer Hint

As Celtic’s Champions League qualifier fast approaches, former Celtic striker, Frank McAvennie has spoken of his confidence of the Hoops getting players in before the big kick off.

Speaking to Football Insider, McAvennie was adamant that his former club is speaking to targets and there will be at least two new signings before the crucial European tie, “I think he can get two in before that game.

“I wouldn’t think there will be loads. There’s still a lot of time left in the transfer window.

“He will want some elements of his own squad in there, even if that’s one or two players.

“He has to concentrate and speak to Dom McKay. From what I hear, McKay is speaking to the targets and people on the radar.

“They need a centre half. I know they have the young boy from Sheffield Wednesday but he’s not going straight into that team.”

There has already been a blow to that plan as Hoops target Charlie Wyke is rumoured to be signing a contract with League One side Wigan Athletic.

With Celtic gaffer, Ange Postecoglou, seemingly focused on strengthening his defence, hopefully the news McAvennie is hinting at is the possible signing of Aaron Hickey from Bologna or Kenneth Paal from Dutch side PEC Zwolle.

With the rebuild seemingly underway, it really is exciting times for the Hoops fans as they wait and see what type of player their new boss can attract to Paradise to facilitate his style of free flowing, attacking football.
