“Don’t be surprised if Manchester City and Manchester United are in for him” – Celtic tipped for summer cash windfall

With Scotland’s participation at the Euro’s now at an end, one player has been tipped for a big money move off the back of his performances in the two group games against England and Croatia.

Kieran Tierney was an absolute standout in the tournament and it was clear how much Scotland missed him in the opening game against the Czech Republic.

Former Rangers player and now pundit, Barry Ferguson, has once again tipped the Scotland and Arsenal star for a big money move off the back of successful personal appearances for his country.

Speaking on The Go Radio Football Show, Ferguson said, “Top class professional, top player. No doubt in my mind.

“I think Arsenal will struggle to keep him. I really do. And don’t be surprised if a Manchester City and Manchester United , and even the big European sides, don’t be surprised that they’re in for him in the next couple of weeks.

“Because I think he’s that good. As I said, I always rated him when he was at Celtic.

“I thought he was a very good player. Since he’s went down to the English Premier League he’s went up a couple of notches and there’s no doubt Scotland, when they don’t have him are worse off. When he’s in the team they are much stronger.”

This is not the first time Ferguson has tipped Tierney for a big move and with Arsenal still aiming to get him tied up to a longer contract, it seems that after just two seasons at the Emirates, Tierney may have already outgrown the Gunners as the London club have failed to not only fail to win any silverware, but qualify for any European tournament next season.

With Celtic reportedly due a 25% sell on clause for Tierney, you would imagine it would take a bid of at least £70m for Arsenal to entertain any potential suitors, and with that type of money, Celtic could see their coffers swell by tens of millions.
