INCREDIBLE POLL SHOWS FANS ARE BEHIND ANGE

Now that the Celtic manager question has been answered and the fans now have a better gauge of who Ange Postecoglou is, the question that has been burning in my head is “Do the fans believe he is the right man for the job”?

According to a poll run by the Vital Celtic website, they do.

Over 6,000 votes have been cast and an amazing 59% of fans do believe that the big outspoken Australian is the man to take Celtic forward next season.

Postecoglou has been described as the one of the top ten coaches in the world by none other than Pep Guardiola, so that should be enough to make any football fan sit up and take notice.

But even aside the fact that he remains a relative unknown in these parts, the media hype south of the equator seems to suggest that Celtic have got their hands on a real gem and a favourite amongst the Australian media.

There seems to be this narrative that Ange is a “fixer”. He takes teams that are ailing, struggling or requiring a rebuild and he turns them into champions.

He worked his magic at Yokohama F Marinos, Brisbane Roar and Melbourne Victory. All teams languishing mid to bottom table and within a season, turns them into winners.

With his experience of also taking over an ageing Australian national team, rebuilding the side and taking, let’s be honest, a team of hard working individuals to two consecutive World Cup’s is an outstanding feat. That coupled with his brand of attacking football, has clearly got the Hoops fans intrigued by their new manager.

Celtic fans will do what Celtic fans do best. They will support their manager. They will give him a chance and it looks like Ange has the goodwill of the best fans in the world in the bank already.

  1. It’s hardly a surprise that supporters think a man successful at both domestic and International level with 25 years experience in management will be a success at the home of Scottish football, is it? 52/ 1 – Incoming.
