REPORT WARNS OF £7M BID FOR HOOPS STAR. CELTIC FANS NEED TO TAKE A SEAT

A report has surfaced tonight of a plot to raid Celtic with a £7m bid for Hoops Young Player of The Year David Turnbull.

The Scottish Sun reports that Aston Villa are poised to try and prise Celtic’s star man away from Paradise after the Euro’s as Villa boss Dean Smith takes note of the Scottish transfer market after the success of John McGinn.

Turnbull, signed from Motherwell for £3m last summer has been a huge success this season as the one shining light from what has been described as a year of disaster after losing the long dreamt about ten in a row to greatest rivals Rangers.

If The Villains genuinely are serious about trying to tempt Turnbull away, they need to get their valuation in order first.

£7m for a player of Turnbull’s already rising stock is laughable and in my opinion Smith would genuinely need to come back with an offer north of £15m for Celtic to entertain the notion of allowing the Euro’s bound midfielder to speak to the Midlands club.

With Celtic supporters still patiently waiting for the news of Eddie Howe becoming the next manager AND season book renewals, any thought if selling their top star would be a massive blow to not only to the teams chances of taking back the league title back from their Glasgow rivals, but also of convincing the hoops faithful to parting with their hard earned cash again.
