CELTIC “EXPECTED” TO OFFER €8M FOR PROLIFIC FORWARD

Turkish media outlet , Milliyet today reports that Celtic are “expected” to offer €8m for prolific Gabonese forward Aaron Boupendza.

Boupendza currnetly plays for Hatayspor in the Turkish Super Lig and has so far notched twenty two goals in thirty eight appearances for the 6th place team.

The 24 year old was picked up on a free from French side Bourdeaux at the beginning of the season and has been an absolute sensation in Turkey’s top division and has started to attract attention from various other clubs, including Celtic.

It is reported that Celtic have already had a €6.5m bid rejected but Milliyet claims that is is expected that the Hoops will come in with a second bid of €8.5m, which will match the Turkish club’s valuation.

Boupndza is a Gabon international with sixteen appearances under his belt with just four international goals to his name.

A relative unknow to the game before his move to Hatayaspor, by all regards it seems Celtic see the front man as an ideal replacement for Frenchman Odsonne Edouard when he finally moves onto the English Premier League with Leicester City.

Although there is no word from Celtic regarding the transfer of Boupendza, it seems the Turkish media are almost certain that Celtic see the front man as the man to lead the line for the Hoops next season.
