Take tonight. As Entracht Frankfurt prepare to face Napoli in the last week of the Champions League, both sets of fans clashed with police in what can only be described as something depicting a war zone.
Flares, chairs and tables were used as missiles and this chilling footage shows just how close these police officers came to suffering serious injury.
We all know the Napoli fans have a volatile fanbase and some vicious far right political views and it is hardly surprising that these scenes have taken place tonight.
I just hope all those involved managed to get some relative safety before anyone got seriously injured or worse.
