Tam McManus should have kept his latest anti-Celtic nonsense for his Ibrox platform

Tam McManus is slowly but surely completing his move over to the Dark Side.

The former Hibs man, now Ibrox blogger/contributor has spoked out about the weekends VAR penalty calls and guess which penalties he had the biggest issue with?

You guessed it. Partick Thistle and Celtic’s.

Shocker eh? And you will also never guess what rule he is advocating that VAR should not get involved in? Have a read of this drivel from the Daily Record:

There’s a simple solution for me. Don’t let VAR get involved in handball. Add it to the list of decisions that the video refs can’t push the button on.

Once a ref gives or doesn’t give a penalty then get on with it. It’s when officials are called to the screen and start looking at ball to hand scenarios umpteen times that a can of worms is suddenly opened.

Is the arm in an unnatural position? Is it a clear and obvious error? Was the ball going on target?

The Celtic and Partick Thistle penalties at the weekend were just the latest where the handball rule is causing bother rather than eradicating it. VAR was at the centre of both awards.

The one rule that has beneffited just one club this season. The handball rule. They have received more dodgy VAR decisions than any other club in the country. Just look at Tillman’s dive on Sunday.

VAR still gave that shocker as a penalty even though the offence happened outside the box.

Nothing to say on that Tam?

Of course not. Don’t want to upset your cushy wee gig over on Ibrox media now do we?
