Stunning report claims Sevco’s stars Mafia father may have been involved in ‘hit’ after transfer move broke down

On their way to Paradise

On this blog I have written many times how I think I’ve seen it all.

From the attempted assassination of Alfredo Morelos to a £40m China move for the Colombian.

Some of the players from that side of the city sure do get themselves involved in some dodgy affairs.

But is there anything more dodgier than an actual attempted murder from a bona fide Mafia boss?

You would think not. Which is why this story involving Rangers star Borna Barisic is so incredible, I’m amazed that none of the Scottish media outlets have picked it up.

According to The Daily Star, Barisic’s father, Stipe, may have been involved in a hit when a transfer move for the Rangers left back was blocked by Dinamo Zagreb chief Zdravko Mamic. He is said to be the head of Croatian mafia Cepin clan.

The report said, “Barisic [senior] was furious when he found out his move to the Croatian giants had fallen through in the dying stages. Soon after publicly lambasting the club for snubbing the defender, Mamic was shot in the leg during an assassination attempt on his life, according to reports in Croatia.

“According to Sata 24, soon after Barisic’s move collapsed, two masked attackers rushed out of the Croatian woodlands and attacked Mamic as he was getting out of a car, near a church in the small town of Zidine.

“Mamic managed to survive the attack but was shot wound to his leg.”

Quite incredible stuff.

Who wants to bet he is selected for tomorrow nights World Cup semi final against Argentina?
