The ‘high risk’ Sevco share issue that comes with FIVE incredible warnings for buyers

British pond, money & banking

You genuinely couldn’t make this up. I mean it.

As Rangers embark on another confetti adventure, the club hope to raise just over £1m, there is a website selling shares on the market that comes with a high risk warning for potential buyers.

Kieran Maguire announced the share issue yesterday:

But it was the sale of the shares on a website called Tifosy Capital & Advisory – Exchange that caught my eye.

From their website they say, “The Tifosy Exchange is where Tifosy members can trade securities purchased on Tifosy from one another.

“Operating as a noticeboard, the Tifosy Exchange allows members to express an interest to sell or buy eligible bonds and shares.

Any transaction via the Tifosy Exchange is a direct sale between the buyer and the seller.

So not directly investing into the club per say, but an opportunity to hold a piece of it in your hand.

The asking prices are also intruiging:

Now I’m no expert but the issue value to asking price doesn’t seem like value for me.

But it was the hilarious warning at the top of the website that really grabbed my attention, “Don’t invest unless you’re prepared to lose all the money you invest. This is a high-risk investment and you are unlikely to be protected if something goes wrong.

And when you read why by clicking the link for an explanation, the is a section called “What are the key risks?

1. You could lose all the money you invest

2. You won’t get your money back quickly

3. Don’t put all your eggs in one basket

4. The value of your investment can be reduced

And the last one is a kicker:

5. You are unlikely to be protected if something goes wrong.

What could possibly go wrong investing in a company that has made £100m in losses over the last 10 years and has no sellable assets to offset those losses?

I’ve no idea either. Where do I sing up?
