As the news broke that Celtic winger Liel Abada was the subject of transfer interest from Ajax, the fans will be wondering what exactly the future hold for one of their favourites.

Speaking about the speculation, journalist Mark Guidi made two predictions about the future of Abada and, strangely both will delight the Celtic fans.

Speaking on The Go Radio Football Show, Guidi said, “He’s a talented player. He’s young and he’s made a real positive contribution to Celtic.

“So it doesn’t surprise me that there’s clubs reportedly looking at him. What’s still to be established is what is the situation?

“Is there still a deal to be done with Celtic? 

“I think, looking at the Abada situation, I would imagine that the summer could be crunch time. However, he’s still got two years to go on a four year deal. 

“But if an offer came, I think Celtic will probably be tempted.

“But I still think they would want to get round the negotiating table and tie him down on a longer-term deal. 

“I think that one’s got a few twists and turns to come. But no surprise there’s clubs looking at him.

“He’s a top player and Celtic will get top dollar for him.”

Strangely, both these scenarios would delight the Celtic fans. Extend his deal and he stays for another four years?

Perfect. Sell him and get top dollar?

Just as good because we know Ange will invest the money in the team wisely.

Whatever happens, let’s just hope that it’s not a long drawn-out affair and Abada’s future is sorted quickly.
