As Celtic look to mip up domestically once again, it seems that the Rangers manager, Michael Beale is going to have a helluva job on his hands trying to catch us.
Not only is the side he has the now not good enough, by the end of the season he faces having to replace up to at least eight players are they near the end of their contracts.
And, to be fair to those players, why would you want to hang around at a club when your rivals continue to sleep your team aside with apparent ease.
Former Celtic striker Frank McAvennie was discussing Ross Wilson’s departure this week and highlighted the former Ibrox Sporting Director role to play in allowing Rangers’ top players to run down their contracts.l, “I do not mean anything personal but there is eight contracts up at the end of the season and that is his fault,” he told Football Insider.
“Eight guys walking away and Rangers are not getting money.
“I am not Einstein or anything but that does not sound like a good deal to me and that is down to Ross Wilson.
“If they are not signing they should have sold them last year or got a couple of million for them in January. The likes of Kent and Morelos are not doing anything and are walking away without giving Rangers anything which is ridiculous.“
I’m not really one to agree with McAvennie but he is right. And the situation at Ibrox is hilarious.
They were already in dire need of a huge rebuild but if eight players do end up walking away for free, it not a rebuild they will need. It’s a miracle.
