Whenever a player leaves Celtic they rarely go on to bigger or better clubs.

They may well go to better leagues, but rarely will they ever get a better club than Celtic.

And when you look at the strikers that have recently left the club, there is no doubt that it is difficult not only to establish yourself at your new club, but also to be as prolific as they were at Paradise.

It looks like that won’t be an issue for Giorgos Giakoumakis though. Take a look at his opening goal for his new club, Atlanta United in the MLS.

The big Greek striker powered home a powerful header and has repaid back a part of the £4.1m fee the Americans shelled out for him.

Giakoumakis talked himself out of the club in January when he appeared to demand an improved contract and when he started to take his frustrations to social media, Ange Postecoglou decided enough was enough and decided to let him leave the club.

Great to see him doing well at his new club and we continue to wish him luck.
