Ewen Cameron makes incredible Kris Boyd/Fernando Torres claim. And he was serious

Celtic Park

Not that I ever did, but anything Ewen Cameron says about football can be automatically chucked in the bin.

In fact, I would go as far to say that after these comments, he needs to be taken off the air as how anyone can take him seriously is beyond me.

Reliving his old Real Radio Football Phone-in days, Cameron regailed a topic on his former show where he made an incredible comparison between Kris Boyd and Fernando Torres.

Speaking on The Big Scottish Football Podcast, Cameron said, “So we’re talking about Kris Boyd as a goal scorer.

And I think he’s one of the best goal scorers this country has ever produced.

When it comes to scoring goals in the box, if you want one man there, put the ball in the back of the net it will be Kris Boyd.

And the debate that we had for two hours one night on the Football Phone-in was, ‘Is Kris Boyd a better goal scorer than Fernando Torres?‘ And I said yes, he was.

He’s a better goal scorer, not a better player, a better goal scorer.”

I mean, where to even start with this pile of sh*te.

Torres played for AC Milan, Athletico Madrid, Liverpool and Chelsea. He’s won a league title in every country he has played in and the European Cup, Europa League twice a World Cup and the Euro’s twice.

And he’s scored over 200 goals in just under 600 career appearances at the top level.

Kris Boyd, two league titles, two Scottish Cups and two league cups. That’s it. And 244 goals in just under 550 appearances with 88% of those goals scored in Scotland.

Not knocking our game, but there are levels.

Oh, and he never once scored against Celtic.

F sake Ewen. Hand in your microphone.
