“This would be funny if it wasn’t so tragic”, “They are petrified of Ange” – Celtic fans roast Barry Ferguson’s latest Ange to Leeds comments

Celtic Park

It’s funny how the narrative quickly changes in Scottish football and the media in general when it comes to Ange Postecoglou.

From the man who would be sacked by Christmas when he first came in, to the first man mentioned for any available job in the English Premier League.

It’s tragic how the press up here operate and they have been shown up for the absolute amatuers that they are by the Celtic boss time and time again.

It’s little wonder they are trying to hawk him out of Glasgow at every opportunity.

And these comments from Barry Ferguson pretty much sum up the narrative surrounding Ange in the Scottish press:

Now, it has to be said that Barry’s comments where a bit tongue in cheek and light hearted as he is generally very complimentary about Postecoglou, but the fact that the Daily Record have homed in on this and reported it as a serious comment just prove that the do have a set agenda of hoping Ange leaves sooner rather than later.

I’ll be honest. I love the way the press embarrass themselves.

They fawn over the manager when it’s a face to face press conference as they know he will have them on toast but will gladly sharpen the knives behind his back.

One message I have for them is this. I and all the Celtic fans see you.

Tell us that Celtic’s success is really, really hurting you without telling us that Celtic’s success is really, really hurting you. 😭 pic.twitter.com/TbzpwwZqbI
