Ange Postecoglou “turns down” Tottenham as Celtic boss prepares for trophy day

Celtic manager, Ange Postecoglou has apparently “turned down” Tottenham Hotspur today. That’s according to a major sports Twitter account.

Transfer News Live  which has almost 2m followers claims that the Daily Mail reports that Ange wants to stay at Celtic.

Of course, there is no suggestion that Spurs actually approached the Celtic gaffer, never mind even made an offer to him but this will he welcome news ahead of what is the biggest week in the clubs season.

Woth Trophy Day set up to be a spectacular event for tomorrow all eyes will be on Celtic Park as Ange lifts the SPFL trophy for the second time in a row.

And next week, we look to capture a wolrd record eighth domestic treble.

The news that Ange turned down Spurs comes not long after former Celtic striker, Chris Sutton said that moving to London would be a “downgrade”.

Sutton said on Twitter, “I want Ange Postecoglou to stay at Celtic and have a crack at the CL next season and Tottenham Hotspur is clearly a downgrade/smaller club than Celtic but nobody can deny the fact that Ange will want a crack at the Premier League down south at some stage…”

Celtic fans can now enjoy tomorrow and the rest of the build up to Cup final week safe in the knowledge that their leader and gaffer is set to be in the Parkhead hotseat for some time to come yet.
