Andy Halliday steps out his comfort zone and slaps down Rangers star for pre match cup final media comments

I’m glad that the *Rangers manager and their team shot their mouths off in the week leading up the league cup final.

I’m glad because it meant that they were not fully focused on the game and more focused on playing to the masses.

And whilst they let their mouths run away with them, they couldn’t catch us as we ran away with the cup. Again.

It’s also about time that the Ibrox club where criticised for their conduct that week. And Andy Halliday stepped up and was the first to put the boot in.

Speaking on Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, Halliday said, “I’ve got to give the nod to Fashion Sakala.

I think especially after his words in in the media.

"We'll take them. Their defence is ...
"We'll take them. Their defence is stinking" - Rangers Radio pre & post match. Superb

I’ve never been a fan of comments like that, because it’s just gonna always lead to biting you in the backside.

And, I mean, at the time I thought it’s a tight angle, maybe it’s took a skip [his rebound shot] off the pitch or a bobble but having watched it back there’s no way that he should not score that.”

His miss was also a shocker and I suppose that’s just karma for his conduct in the last Glasgow Derby where he dived his way to a penalty.

The long and short of it is this. They are simply not good enough to match us. They never will be and this summer will be a summer of reckoning as Celtic will strengthen and Rangers watch a raft of first team stars walk out for free.

Again.
