Journalist calls on Compliance Officer after bungling Ibrox referee performance

Match Day Celtic Park

I’m not ashamed to say I watched them play Ross County on Saturday. Always good to keep your eye on your rivals and see how they are doing with the big Glasgow Derby match coming up.

So when I watched James Sands rugby tackle the Ross County forward to the ground after already being booked, you would think a red card would be imminent?

Nope. Nor a yellow. In fact, not even a foul was awarded because that would have meant the a second yellow would need to have been brandished and at 0-0, that was never going to happen was it?

Brian McNally, journalist and well known Celtic fan, called for the Compliance Officer to intervene to correct this:

But, let’s face it, that’s just not going to happen now is it?

Could you imagine if the CO intervened and awarded a retrospective red which would mean Sands missed the upcoming Glasgow Derby?

There would be mayhem and the usual calls of ‘conspiracies’ and wot-not.

But we shall see how this plays out this week. Probably to the sound of crickets I’d imagine.
