Chris Sutton’s brutal ‘super heavy’ Alfie takedown

Lisbon Lions Stand, Celtic Park

Got to love wee Alfie.

To go from a £40m prodigy to an overweight burden in the matter of a few years is no mean feat.

To be fair, every preseason he seems to come back as an overweight burden but he always got away with it. Until now.

Pandered to by Stevie G, Morelos seems to have met his match in GvB as the Dutchman lays down the lay to the enigmatic Colombian.

Chris Sutton also laid into wee Alfie as he took aim at the strikers unprofessional attitude.

Speaking on BT Sports, Sutton said, “Yes well why on Earth would you want someone who is a stone, or super heavy in your squad or in your team?

“It’s unacceptable for him to be like that. Super heavy is well overweight. I think it’s a big issue. I really do.

You’re talking about the highest level.

When asked if the sending off last week was a bigger issue for the club Sutton said, “No it’s not. Of course that’s an issue but the bigger issue is that you have a player who can’t be bothered to get himself fit.

“Champions League Rangers did brilliantly against PSV.

The bigger issue is that he can’t be bothered to get himself fit with games of that magnitude and importance.

He’s let his teammates down in that respect.”

He’s definitely let his team mates down. Of that there is no doubt.

For us? He continues to give us great laughs. Long may he continue his Ibrox career.
