“He’s someone I have a lot of respect for” – Aussie media reports Steven Gerrard talking Ange

Let’s be honest. Gerrard left them because he was running scared of Ange didn’t he?

Of course he did. He could also see how the Ibrox club were scaling down their transfer business to help cover the £100m losses they have amassed over the last ten years.

I wrote not so long ago how Phil Mac Ghiolla Bháin revealed the Rangers transfer policy this season and already we have seen it come true. Read about that here and you will see what I mean.

But back to Gerrard. When asked his opinion on the Celtic gaffer, the former Rangers manager was very complimentary about Postecoglou.

As reported in Sporting News, Gerrard said, “Ange did fantastically well. He came in with his own style.

It took a little bit of time for him to implement that but once the players got used to that, they went on to win the league title and the League Cup as well, so it was a very successful season for him.

“He’s someone who I’ve got a lot of respect for and a lot of admiration for, and he’s done ever so well, so credit to him.

“He’s obviously got big experience. He’s had a lot of success throughout his career, and he comes across as a very humble guy.
