Former Celt linked with incredible EPL move

It seems that the Jack Hendry story is one that keeps cropping up every time we get close to a transfer window.

As Celtic let the Scottish international defender move to KV Oostende in the summer for £1.5m, he was quickly flipped and sold onto Club Brugges in a move worth around £3.5 of which the Hoops received an unconfirmed 10% sell on fee.

But now it seems the big central defender is in line for a move to English Premier League side Aston Villa.

The Villains are looking to bolster their centre of defence and see Hendry as the ideal replacement for Axel Tuanzebe who is set to return to Manchester United at the end of the season and Kortney Hause who enters the final year of his contract.

Hendry pinpointed the Champions League as one of the main reasons he moved to the Belgian champions so it remains to be seen if he would be willing to move to a club languishing in the bottom half of the EPL just three points ahead of safety, “One of the main reasons I came to Brugge was to play in the Champions League.

“I believed in myself that I could play on this stage and it was up to me to go and show that. I feel mentally, technically and physically I can compete at this level.”

As Hendry continues to impress in Belgium and on the Scottish international scene, it remains to be seen what kind of transfer fee he could or would command to tempt Brugges to part with their star player.
