Hibs Boss Gives Verdict on Celtic Transfer Rumour Amid Surprise Player Ommision

Hibs boss Jack Ross has given an update on the Kevin Nesbit transfer rumour to Celtic.

It has been rumoured that the young Scotland international was subject to a cash plus player offer by journalist Peter Martin, when he tweeted out yesterday afternoon, “Swap plus cash. I’m told #Celtic keen on Kevin Nisbet with Leigh Griffiths and cash going to Easter road. In my view, Griffiths time at Celtic is up and the club are keen to move him out. Will #Hibernian bite?“.

It sent twitter and the transfer rumour mill alight and it is fair to say it was popular amongst the Celtic fans as they have lost patience with their nomadic striker.

Ahead of Hibs tie against Dundee, Ross was speaking to Sky Sports and gave a frank update on the supposed rumour, “I was surprised to hear about it yesterday, because unless people at the club aren’t telling me things – which I don’t imagine is the case – then it’s nonsense, really. “It just shows how something can be created and people can run with it.

“As far as we’re concerned there’s absolutely no truth in it.”

Incredibly, Nesbit was left out of the entire match day squad today which has only thrown fuel to the fire and as the Hoops look to bolster their attack ahead of the transfer window deadline, this is a story that will run on until the window slams shut.
